ABSTRACT
The aim of the article is a synthesis of known approaches to macroergonomics and an indication of the direction of its development, according to the author. The paper presents three concepts of macroergonomics. The first concept by H.W. Hendrick refers to systems of social engineering. Another approach, by L. Pacholski, refers to a macroergonomic system – an ergonomic industrial system. The last concept is a synthesis of approaches by H.W Hendrick and B.M Kleiner, in which the authors identify macroergonomics as the design of work systems. In addition, the author proposes the developmental direction of macroergonomics in work systems, which is another approach to macroergonomics.
