From 6 to 8 May 2026, the 13th National Scientific Conference in the series “Organisational Development Management”, organised by the Institute of Management at the Lodz University of Technology, took place in Szklarska Poręba. The conference was held under the patronage of His Magnificence the Rector of the Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, PhD, Eng., and the Committee on Organisation and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The aim of the conference was to present the latest research findings and to create a forum for discussion on how to mobilise, commercialise and capitalise on knowledge in a way that not only supports organisational development but also transforms it into a genuine strategic asset, a catalyst for innovation, partnerships and sustainable competitive advantage.
The thematic pillars of the conference were defined by three processes: the mobilisation, commercialisation and valorisation of knowledge. The mobilisation of knowledge involves identifying, activating and integrating knowledge resources – both explicit and tacit – which have not yet been fully utilised in organisational activities. It constitutes the first step in transforming intellectual potential into tangible added value. The commercialisation of knowledge involves transforming the results of scientific research, innovation and know-how into products, services or solutions with market applications. It therefore applies to both the scientific sector and businesses seeking to increase their efficiency and innovation. The valorisation of knowledge, in turn, means attributing economic and social value to knowledge. This is achieved by bringing together different fields and sectors and transforming data, know-how and research findings into sustainable, knowledge-based products, services, solutions and policies that benefit society.
The three-day programme featured a variety of formats for sharing up-to-date knowledge and provided a space for collaboration between the scientific and business communities. The proceedings included panel discussions, such as the panel on ‘Collaborative relationships in the mobilisation, commercialisation and valorisation of knowledge’, presentations, an Oxford-style debate and a poster session; the competition for the best paper was also decided during the conference. Both researchers and practitioners interested in organisational development were invited to participate.
The Programme Council was chaired by Prof. Agnieszka Zakrzewska-Bielawska, PhD, Eng., whilst the honorary chairs were Prof. Stefan Lachiewicz, PhD, Prof. Maria Romanowska, PhD, and Prof. Bogdan Nogalski, PhD. The Council comprised representatives from over a dozen academic institutions across Poland, including Poznań University of Technology. The Organising Committee was chaired by Dr Sylwia Flaszewska, Eng.

8. International Ergonomics Seminar

Dates:
29th edition: 20 June 2016–22 June 2016
30th edition: 5 November 2017–9 November 2017
31st edition: 23 May 2018–25 May 2018
32nd edition: 17 September 2025–19 September 2025
Venue: Poznań University of Technology (31st edition — Lecture Centre; 32nd edition — Faculty of Management Engineering building)
Organisers: Poznań Branch of the Polish Ergonomics Society, Poznań University of Technology, Faculty of Management Engineering, Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Ergonomics Committee
www: http://iset.poznan.pl/

The International Ergonomics Seminar is the longest-running conference series in the Polish ergonomics community, having been held for over thirty years; for nearly three decades, it has had an international character. It has changed in many respects, both in terms of venue and frequency of meetings, but has always retained its intimate character, as the number of participants rarely exceeded one hundred. This provided an opportunity for a direct exchange of experiences between practitioners and theorists, not only from Poland.
The organisers of the seminars address various areas of ergonomics, selecting a central theme on each occasion. Initially, these were issues related to the teaching of ergonomics, occupational health and safety. However, the dynamic development of many fields of science and a range of sectors in the economy, administration and education has posed – and continues to pose – new challenges for ergonomics, which has had a key influence on the issues addressed during the conferences. The main theme does not, however, limit the scope of the papers and discussions, as this is shaped by the participants themselves. The languages of the Seminar remain Polish and English. Participants present their achievements in teaching, research and implementation both in the form of papers and posters, whilst the programme is complemented by workshops.
The Honorary Chair of the Seminar is Prof. Leszek Pacholski; the Programme Council is chaired by Dr Marcin Butlewski, and the Organising Committee by Dr Krzysztof Hankiewicz. The Programme Council comprises several dozen members representing Polish and international centres, including those from Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary.
The 31st Seminar (Poznań, 23–25 May 2018) was held at the Lecture Centre of the Poznań University of Technology under the theme ‘Human factors in a contemporary organisation’. The central theme was therefore the place and role of the individual within organisational structures, building on the subject matter of the previous edition – the jubilee 30th Seminar in Tarnów – which was devoted to ergonomics and occupational safety throughout the human life course. The proceedings of the 31st Seminar were published as the peer-reviewed monograph *Human Factors in Contemporary Organisations (31st International Seminar of Ergonomics)*, edited by Leszek Pacholski, Krzysztof Hankiewicz, Beata Mrugalska, Marcin Butlewski and Adam Górny, and published by DEStech Publications, Inc. in 2019.
The 32nd Seminar (Poznań, 17–19 September 2025) took place in the building of the Faculty of Management Engineering at Poznań University of Technology, and its main theme was ‘Ergonomics: evolution of challenges & solutions’. Framing the theme in terms of evolution reflected both the seven-year hiatus in the cycle, resulting from the pandemic which prevented the meeting from being held on the originally planned date, and the intention to broaden the scope of topics discussed in the past. The proceedings were held in parallel with the Marketing–Development–Quality Scientific Conference and the INTERLOG Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference “Logistics – Production – Economics”. Participants from all three events took part in a joint welcome session, the opening lecture and a panel discussion.
