The paper describes the issue of managing professional competencies in view of the dynamically changing needs of an enterprise. Optimisation of the choice of employee competencies allows a business to analyse both the internal and external resources of the labour market. Staff management in an environment of dynamically changing market needs and maintaining competitive advantage forces businesses to react to changes flexibly. System Professionals is a practical tool that may be used with this aim in mind.
