The subject of the paper is a process diagram of data input to an IT system, as a tool to improve the communication process inside an enterprise. Observational research, conducted under real conditions in a company producing machine parts, provided knowledge about the quality of communication between various organizational units within the enterprise and between the IT system users, hence the concept of using the diagram as an organizational tool in the data input process. For a correct understanding of the issue, the essence of the organizational communication process and basic communication models inside the enterprise are presented, as well as the diagram’s properties and expedience of its utilization.
