The purpose of this article is to show the relationship between the ergonomic quality of a machine and the risk assessment by the use of a drill type WS-15. Risk assessment of the object was calculated by the Risk Score method. Ergonomic quality was also evaluated by calculations using the procedures specified in PN-88/N-08007 „Ergonomic attestation of machinery and equipment. The methodical basis” published in 1989 by the Polish Committee for Standardization, Measures and Quality. The risk assessment result of the object was compared with the result of ergonomic quality. The results confirm that there is a relationship between the ergonomic quality and risk assessments. It can be said that poor ergonomic quality goes together with an occupational hazard.
