The main goal of the following paper is the attempt to answer the question: what is the leading type of raw material used in the manufacturing process of spare parts to be used in agricultural machinery of the predefined type? According to the authors, answering this question allows to identify activities within the areas of procurement and production that will create savings, especially in the context of lean management – influencing the flexibility of an organization. The research is based on the assumption that the kind of raw material used in production process of the predefined spare parts largely determines the strategy for the reduction of costs in the manufacturing process.
