Security, identification of threats and occupational risk assessment on a post of a tramway driver are very important issues. The driver is responsible for the health and life of many people, not only those, who travel in the determined vehicle, but also other users of the road. Therefore, it is necessary to guarantee the highest standards of work on the post of a tramway driver, as well as securing best qualifications and skills of the person on this post. The paper encloses some basic terms from the range of the work of a tram driver. It also includes a characteristic of the post and the description of operation performed on this post. Moreover, the article shows threats identified by authors. In case of this post they are numerous. In addition, a risk assessment was performed on the described workstation and technical and organizational solutions for reducing the risk and prepared estimation of costs were made in view to changes planned to be implemented. The paper encloses a suggestion for upgrading what is possible to improve, in order to upper the level of security and comfort of a tramway driver, as well as the safety of his passengers.
