Nowadays there is access to lots of packaging materials of which a considerable proportion are plastic ones. Despite the general negative opinion about this type of packaging, it is worth noting that using them enables optimizing transport processes, extending the suitability of the products for consumption and lowering energy consumption during production. Minimizing the negative impact of the transport and storage processes on the quality of product and optimization of the recycling processes is possible through the use of intelligent packaging, edible packaging or plastic as well as innovative solutions for palletizing.
