ABSTRACT
The aim of this article is to present the results of the Delphi study on the identification of managers’ competencies that affect the competitive advantage of companies in the wood-based panels sector. The conducted pilot studies provided the basis for further exploration of the topic. It was possible to select a list of key competences of managers and instruments of competition of enterprises in the analyzed sector. Thanks to the conducted research, it will be possible to prepare a questionnaire addressed to enterprises, thanks to which it will be possible to determine the degree of application of the factors indicated by experts and to examine their mutual correlations. Many of the competences determined during the study are largely identical to the skills and knowledge that characterize the entrepreneur on the market. Intrapreneurship (corporate entrepreneurship) leads to business ventures and other innovative solutions. Improving professional competences and adjusting them to the requirements of the labor market as well as strengthening intrapreneurship orientation is a factor supporting innovation and strengthening the development of the Polish economy. Nowadays, a competent manager at every level should act and think in an entrepreneurial manner. It is also worth supporting activities in the field of the evolution of traditional corporate culture into an intrapreneur culture.
