In this paper the issues of road safety and legal working time requirements of professional drivers are discussed. They provided a theoretical basis for the questionnaire survey carried out among a select group of drivers. The aim of this article was to illustrate the problem of manipulation of working time of professional drivers. The analysis of the results allowed to determine the main causes and reasons of such action. Moreover, it can lead to a proposal of organizational and technological changes which can minimize or eliminate the problem and improve road transport safety.
